Day 38, Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008
On Tuesday, I was still getting better from being sick, so I was sleeping a lot and taking it easy. I did a lot of computer work… catching up on old projects, sending out announcements for Delavan Art Gallery’s opening on Thursday, etc. When I finally did wander out into the world for a moment, it was to go to the Oak Park library, which is right around the corner.
This post is dedicated to Roslyn… Ros, perhaps it would be best to abandon Chelsea ideals and go to work at such a heaven as this… Oak Park Public Library. A modern building with several floors, a DVD collection, glass enclosed staircases with literary quotes, an original collection of contemporary American art, a well-presented art gallery and even a fish tank near the entrance/kids area! I expect you’d feel right at home here.

"skip skitter start trip vault bounce- and other attempts at flight" by Jacob Hashimoto... this is my favorite

near the entrance is a fish tank! how cool! The light is out but in the circular spot in the wall are real fish...
One more thing Ros as a sidenote… I really like the way my Grandma hangs her artwork. A feng shui woman helped her with it… They are rectangular clumpings throughout her apartment…

Like the arrangement.
Yes, about that abandoning, you’re right.
Art Library is totally where I belong.

Community Art Library is totally where I belong.
You know I just realized that I remember reading a while back about this library in the US’s top 10 ranked libraries! I know, only something my family would find fascinating. But I’ve even found the article online still, check it out: http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/10great/2008-03-06-10great-libraries_N.htm
